What happens during the 30 minutes?
- The technician looks at how you stand and how your shoulders sit, then runs a hand down your spine to find the tight, cold-feeling spots.
- You lie face down and the cups are placed along the back.
- While the suction does its work, the hands move to the neck and the line of the shoulders.
- The cups are lifted one by one and the back is wiped and covered.
Tell the technician if a cup pulls too hard and it will be adjusted.
Will it leave marks, and how long do they last?
Almost always. Round pink, red or purple circles where the cups sat are normal for cupping and usually fade over several days. If you have a wedding, a photo shoot or a beach trip in the next few days, book around it.
