Acupressure for Headache and Dizziness in Saigon

Khu ngâm chân thảo dược tại Huyệt Đạo Tống Gia Quận 9
Fingers pressing along the eyebrows and forehead during a head acupressure session at Tong Gia

Feeling the room spin when you stand up fast, a heavy head by late afternoon, a dull ache at the temples after hours at a screen: many people in Vietnam call this “rối loạn tiền đình” (a balance problem) and live with it for years. At Tong Gia in Ho Chi Minh City, a relaxing head-and-neck acupressure session focuses on the area that is almost always tight in these guests: the neck and shoulders.

How Eastern wellness looks at it

Traditional Vietnamese wellness looks at headache and light-headedness from three common angles: not enough qi and blood reaching the head, “rising” tension when you are stressed, and a stiff neck that limits circulation upwards. Most guests who come for this also have very tight neck and shoulder muscles.

What happens in the session

  • A short observation of your face, neck posture and shoulder height, plus a few questions about when the dizziness usually comes.
  • Very soft release of the neck, shoulders and upper back.
  • Acupressure on Phong Tri (base of the skull), Bach Hoi (top of the head), Thai Duong (temples), An Duong (between the eyebrows) and Noi Quan (inner wrist).
  • A warm compress on the back of the neck and an herbal foot soak. No neck twisting or cracking.

A neck & shoulder session is 550,000 VND for 60 minutes (about $21) or 750,000 VND for 90 minutes (about $29). Head care is 750,000 VND for 60 minutes (about $29). Full prices are on the prices page.

A point you can press at home

Noi Quan sits on the inner wrist, three finger-widths up from the wrist crease, between the two tendons. When you feel unsteady or slightly nauseous, sit down, breathe slowly and press it gently for one minute on each side.

When to see a licensed physician first

If dizziness comes with a drooping face, slurred speech, weakness or numbness on one side, double vision, or a sudden severe headache, call emergency services (115 in Vietnam) or go to a hospital right away. Do not wait to book a massage.

FAQ

Will massage make vertigo go away? No. Tong Gia offers relaxing wellness care, not medical care. Many guests simply feel lighter in the head once the neck and shoulders relax.

Which session should I book? Book the 60-minute neck & shoulder session if your neck is the main problem, or the 90-minute version if your upper and lower back also feel tight.

Do you crack the neck? No. The neck is only pressed and kneaded softly; there is no twisting.

This is a wellness service, not medical care.
