Traditional Eastern Wellness: Organ-Focused Sessions

Dưỡng sinh Đông y, traditional Eastern wellness, is a way of keeping the body in balance through the organ (tạng phủ) and meridian system. In an organ-focused session at Tong Gia, the practitioner’s hands work the points and muscles along the spine linked to one organ (Liver, Spleen, Lung, Kidney or Heart) so you can let go, feel comfortable and sleep more deeply.

Signs people often notice

  • Tired eyes, tendons that tighten easily (Liver)
  • Poor appetite, heavy arms and legs (Spleen)
  • Shallow breathing, dry skin (Lung)
  • Ringing ears, hair loss, a tired lower back (Kidney)
  • Trouble sleeping, a racing heart (Heart)

How Tong Gia looks at it

Tong Gia’s meridian books link each organ with an emotion. Along both sides of the spine runs a chain of “Du” points, like doorways to the organs: Phe Du at the third thoracic vertebra, Can Du near the ninth, Ty Du near the eleventh and Than Du at the level of the second lumbar vertebra. This is a wellness way of choosing which area to care for first, not a way to label any illness.

The session

Observation of your face and shoulders, a check along the spine, a neck squeeze to open, then longer work on the section of the back that matches the session (heart, kidney, liver, spleen-stomach, lung or women’s care), finished with a warm herbal compress and foot soak.

Prices: heart, kidney, liver, spleen-stomach or women’s care 750,000 VND for 75 minutes (about $29); lung care 900,000 VND for 90 minutes (about $35). See the prices page.

Wellness is not only pressure points: noticing what emotions you carry, how you sleep and how you eat is the first step. The founder, Lương Y Tống Văn Huynh, also starts every session with face reading.

Safety

Organ-focused wellness is relaxing care based on Eastern ideas and does not replace a visit to a licensed physician. If you have heart or blood-pressure conditions, tell us before booking.
