You can experience Vietnamese face reading, Y Tuong Hoc, at Tong Gia’s two branches in Ho Chi Minh City: 225 Duong Thi Muoi Street, Tan Chanh Hiep Ward, District 12 (open 8:00–19:00 daily) and Unit T16-21, The Manhattan, Vinhomes Grand Park, Long Binh Ward, Thu Duc City (open 9:00–20:00 daily). The observation is part of every session, so there is no separate fee; a traditional Vietnamese massage of 90 minutes costs 550,000 VND (about $21).

What is Vietnamese face reading (Y Tuong Hoc)?

Y Tướng Học, written without accents as Y Tuong Hoc, is a traditional Eastern way of looking at a person before any hands-on work begins. The practitioner observes the shape of your face, your complexion, and your posture: how you stand, how your shoulders sit, whether your head leans forward. From these signs they suggest which areas of the body may need more care during your session.

Two things it is not. It is not fortune telling: nobody will predict your future, your love life or your luck. And it is not a health examination: it does not look for or name any illness. If something worries you about your health, see a licensed physician. Y Tuong Hoc is simply a careful, observant start that helps the practitioner spend your time where it matters.

Founded on the work of Lương Y Tống Văn Huynh

Tong Gia was founded by Lương Y Tống Văn Huynh, a traditional Vietnamese wellness master with more than 13 years in Eastern wellness care. His approach brings together Y Tuong Hoc observation and balancing the reflex areas along the spine. That is why every session at Tong Gia, whatever you book, begins by looking before touching.

How Eastern face reading wellness fits into your session

  1. Observation (Y Tuong Hoc). A few quiet minutes while the practitioner looks at your face, complexion, shoulders and spine. Feel free to ask what they notice.
  2. Spine check. Hands follow the spine to confirm where muscles feel tight or guarded.
  3. Acupressure and kneading on the right area. Based on what was observed, more time may go to the neck and shoulders, the lower back, or the head. Pressure is adjusted as you go, and the practitioner keeps asking how it feels.
  4. Warm herbal compress and foot soak to close the session.

For example, someone with tense, raised shoulders and a forward head position may find the session leaning toward the neck and upper back, while someone who looks tired and pale may be offered a slower, gentler pace.
