Anyone who stands for work knows the feeling: by evening your legs feel like stones, the calves are tight and the soles burn. Tong Gia’s tired-legs session is a foot and leg massage that also looks at the lower back, where much of that heaviness starts.
Price: 500,000 VND for 60 minutes (about $19), finished with a warm herbal compress and foot soak.
How Eastern wellness sees heavy legs
In traditional Eastern wellness, the Spleen governs the muscles and the movement of fluids; when it is weak, “dampness” tends to settle in the legs and you feel heavy and tired. Tong Gia’s guide to the back, hips and legs treats the lower back as the root of many heavy-leg feelings.
What happens in the session
- The practitioner watches how you stand and how your weight and hips sit.
- Fingers run along the lower spine to find tight spots before moving to the thighs, the back of the knees and the calves.
- Calves are held, squeezed and stroked along the muscle fibres; points Uy Trung, Thua Son, Tuc Tam Ly and Tam Am Giao are pressed.
- Pressure is checked throughout.
Try this at home
Thua Son sits in the middle of the calf, in the hollow that appears when you stand on tiptoe. Raise your legs for 10–15 minutes, turn each ankle ten times in each direction, then press Thua Son for about one minute on each side.
When to see a licensed physician first
Strong or whole-body swelling, swelling with shortness of breath or little urine, or one calf that is swollen, hot, red and painful, or twisted bulging veins: see a licensed physician first and do not squeeze hard yourself.

FAQ
Is this the same as reflexology? It includes foot work and points on the legs, but the session also covers the lower back and calves rather than the soles only.
How much is a foot massage? 500,000 VND for 60 minutes (about $19).
This is a wellness service, not medical care.
